4. Agreeing Target levels of performance for each KPI
For each KPI a target level of performance should be established. The target performance is the required level or standard set that the employee needs to achieve. Targets should provide some challenge and stretch in order to drive improved performance. However, you should be about 80% confident that you will be able to achieve the agreed target level of performance. Any less than that and they probably don't contain enough "stretch"; any more and they may be unrealistic
The Performance Review
Arrange Meeting – Manager and Employee
Preparation – Manager and Employee • Review past year’s performance against performance plan • Draft content for the end of year review • Consider next year’s performance objectives • Seek input from relevant others, including the manager’s manager.
Appraisal discussion – Manager and Employee • Achievement against each objective and target • Achievement against each competency • Establish performance ratings
Complete documentation – Manager • Finalise performance review •
Agree appraisal rating with your manager
